As an independent designer, creative director and artisan jeweller, Julia Bartsch occupies the niche that pairs a sophisticated design approach with artisanal craftsmanship. Blurring the boundaries between jewellery & wearable art, her creations are destined to be worn or to be displayed.
Strongly inspired by the human form, Julia’s creative vision explores the body as a vessel of transformation and diversity. Each jewellery item is conceived to interact with the body and thus engage in an intimate dialogue between the wearer and the object itself. Characterised by pure metal shapes, precisely sculpted movements, and refined ergonomics her pieces evoke a sense of motion through contrast, capturing the momentum of liquid metal within its enduring solidity.
Julia speaks to a diverse audience that appreciates an unconventional approach to jewellery and dares to differ by shaping their own narrative. In a period marked by the pursuit of personal identity and authenticity, her designs resonate with self-expression and individuality, empowering the wearer to embrace their jewellery piece not just as an accessory but as an extension of themselves.
Behind each personally crafted Julia Bartsch item lies a commitment to artisanal values and sustainable practices. Working exclusively with recycled precious metals like silver and gold, Julia designs and handcrafts each jewellery piece in her Paris-based atelier in limited editions and small series production.
After completing a two-year residency at Les Ateliers de Paris (2023–2025), Julia was selected to join La Cité des Taillandiers - a community of twenty ateliers in the heart of Paris. This collective is supported by the City of Paris and dedicated to promoting and preserving traditional crafts with a contemporary approach.
